Marwest Apartment Real Estate Investment Trust (the REIT) is an unincorporated, open-ended real estate investment trust governed by a declaration of trust established on July 2, 2020, and amended on April 30, 2021. The REIT transitioned from a closed-ended structure to an open-ended structure on April 30, 2021, following a Board of Trustees resolution. It operates under Manitoba law, with its registered office at Suite 500-220 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The REIT focuses on acquiring and managing income-generating multi-family properties across Western Canada, enhancing its portfolio through strategic acquisitions and operational efficiency.
As of December 31, 2023, the REITs portfolio comprises four multi-family properties, all held by its subsidiary, MAR REIT L.P. (the Partnership). These include Kenwood Court (Marwest Apartments I L.P.), Brio Brownstones (Marwest Apartments VII L.P.), and Element (Marwest Apartments L.P.), all fully owned by the Partnership.
