ARKK is an actively-managed, non-diversified exchange-traded fund launched in October 2014 by ARK Invest, focused on a disruptive innovation investment theme. Under normal conditions, it commits at least 65% of its assets to domestic and foreign equity securities of companies tied to this theme, spanning both developed and emerging markets. Foreign exposure is achieved through direct listings on foreign exchanges as well as American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) and Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs). As a technology-sector ETF, ARKK typically targets companies operating in areas such as artificial intelligence, genomics, fintech, and robotics, reflecting a thematic, research-driven approach rather than broad market indexing.
