The Macquarie Focused Emerging Markets Equity ETF (EMEQ) is a U.S.-listed exchange-traded fund that primarily invests in equity securities of companies headquartered or operating in emerging market countries. Under normal market conditions, the fund commits at least 80% of its net assets (including borrowings used for investment purposes) to these emerging markets equities, with no restrictions on company size, allowing exposure across large-, mid-, and small-cap firms.
As a non-diversified fund, EMEQ is permitted to hold more concentrated positions in a smaller number of issuers compared to diversified funds, which can result in higher volatility but also the potential for greater returns from successful stock selections. The fund provides investors with targeted access to growth opportunities in developing economies, where sectors such as consumer goods, technology, financials, and natural resources often play significant roles in market activity. Listed on NASDAQ and categorized within the Diversified Emerging Markets segment, EMEQ offers a focused approach to capturing equity performance across rapidly developing regions globally.
