SLVR is a passively managed equity ETF that tracks an index of companies engaged in the silver mining value chain. To qualify for inclusion, companies must derive at least 50% of their revenue and/or assets from silver mining, production, development, or exploration, and the index also covers closed-end trusts primarily invested in physical silver. The fund is non-diversified and commits at least 80% of its total assets to index constituents. As a silver miners ETF, it offers exposure to the operational and commodity-price leverage of silver producers, which tend to be more volatile than physical silver due to factors such as mining costs, jurisdictional risk, and company-specific execution.
- Silver prices surge on Fed rate cut expectations and safe-haven demand
- Industrial silver demand grows from solar panel and EV manufacturing expansion
