TAXE is an intermediate-term municipal bond ETF that invests at least 80% of its net assets in investment-grade municipal securities or related derivatives. Under normal conditions, the fund maintains a weighted average effective maturity of four to twelve years, though it places no maturity limits on individual holdings. As a Muni National Intermediate fund, it focuses on debt issued by U.S. state and local governments, which typically offers income that is exempt from federal taxes, and targets the middle of the yield curve to balance interest-rate sensitivity and yield.
- Fed rate cuts boost intermediate muni bond prices
- State fiscal stress widens municipal credit spreads
- Tax policy changes threaten muni tax-exempt status
