The Allspring SMID Core ETF (ASCE) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that primarily invests in equity securities of small- and medium-capitalization U.S. companies, allocating at least 80% of its net assets (plus borrowing for investment purposes) to this segment. The fund may invest up to 20% of its total assets in equity securities of foreign issuers located in developed markets, including through American depositary receipts (ADRs) and similar instruments.
As a small-blend category ETF, ASCE focuses on U.S. equities with smaller market capitalizations, blending growth and value styles across the small- and mid-cap segments. The use of ADRs allows the fund to gain exposure to developed-market foreign companies without trading directly on international exchanges, providing flexibility in meeting its foreign allocation limit while maintaining a primarily U.S.-domiciled portfolio.
- Fed rate cuts support small-cap valuations and borrowing costs
- US economic growth drives domestic small and mid-cap earnings
- Dollar fluctuations impact foreign developed market holdings
