The Avantis Real Estate ETF (AVRE) is a global real estate fund that invests primarily in REITs and REIT-like entities across multiple property sectors. Under normal market conditions, the fund commits at least 80% of its assets to securities issued by REITs and other real estate industry companies. REITs are companies that own, operate, or finance income-producing real estate and are generally required by law to distribute a significant portion of their taxable income to shareholders as dividends, which is a defining feature of the asset class. The manager may also engage in securities lending, reinvesting the related collateral in eligible instruments such as a government money market fund.
- Interest rate cuts lift REIT valuations across global markets
- Commercial real estate stress pressures REIT earnings and dividends
- Global property demand growth drives REIT rental revenue higher
