Description: BOND PIMCO Active Bond

The PIMCO Active Bond ETF (BOND) is an actively managed fixed income exchange-traded fund that invests at least 80% of its assets in a diversified portfolio of Fixed Income Instruments across varying maturities. The fund primarily holds investment grade debt securities but may allocate up to 30% of its total assets to high yield securities, as rated by Moodys, S&P, or Fitch. The fund may also use derivatives such as forwards, options, futures, and swap agreements to gain exposure to these instruments.

Unlike most bond ETFs that passively track an index, BOND is actively managed by PIMCO, one of the largest global fixed income investment managers, which gives the portfolio managers flexibility to adjust duration, credit quality, and sector allocations based on market conditions. As an Intermediate Core-Plus Bond fund, it sits within a category that permits holdings beyond a standard core bond benchmark, including the high yield allocation noted above.

Headlines to Watch Out For
  • Fed rate cuts lift bond prices and ETF NAV
  • High yield allocation exposes fund to credit spread widening
  • Investor inflows drive AUM growth and fee revenue
