Del Monte Corporation (DMC) is a Cayman Islands-based producer, marketer, and distributor of fresh and fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, serving markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia. The company operates through three reportable segments: Fresh and Value-Added Products, Banana, and Other Products and Services.
Its product portfolio spans pineapples, melons, avocados, non-tropical fruits (grapes, apples, citrus, berries, stone fruit, kiwis), fresh-cut salads and vegetables, prepared fruit, juices, beverages, meals, and snacks. Beyond core produce, the company also markets bananas and runs ancillary businesses in third-party freight and logistics, poultry and meats, and specialty ingredients.
Del Monte sells its goods to retailers, club and convenience stores, wholesalers, distributors, and foodservice operators under a broad brand portfolio that includes the flagship Del Monte label along with Manns, Broccolini, Caulilini, Pinkglow, Honeyglow, and Rubyglow, among other regional and product-specific brands. The company was founded in 1886 and was formerly known as Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. before adopting its current name in June 2026.
As a vertically integrated grower-shipper in the Farm Products industry, Del Monte controls much of its supply chain from production through distribution, which is a common structural feature among large-scale fresh produce operators and helps manage the perishability and seasonality inherent to the business. Its presence across multiple categories and geographies provides diversification, though the company remains exposed to commodity price swings, weather, and foreign exchange movements typical of the consumer staples space.
- Fresh-cut fruit and prepared meals drive value-added segment growth
- Banana pricing exposed to weather and disease disruptions
- Input cost inflation pressures food processing and logistics margins
