Description: EZA South Africa

The iShares MSCI South Africa ETF (EZA) is a passive exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the MSCI South Africa Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index and in investments with substantially identical economic characteristics. It is classified as a non-diversified, region-focused ETF listed on the NYSE.

The underlying index targets the large- and mid-capitalization segments of the South African equity market, and applies a capping methodology that limits any single group entity to a maximum weight of 25% of the index. South Africas equity market is traditionally dominated by the materials and financials sectors, with mining companies-particularly those producing gold, platinum, and other precious metals-holding significant weight in the index, reflecting the countrys role as a major global supplier of these resources.
