Description: FSTA Fidelity Consumer Staples

The Fidelity MSCI Consumer Staples Index ETF (FSTA) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the MSCI USA IMI Consumer Staples 25/50 Index. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in securities included in this underlying index, which represents the U.S. consumer staples sector. While the fund aims to replicate the indexs holdings, it is not required to hold every security in it, and the fund operates as a non-diversified fund.

The consumer staples sector encompasses companies that manufacture or distribute essential everyday products such as food, beverages, household goods, and personal care items. Because demand for these products tends to remain relatively stable through economic cycles, the sector is generally considered defensive. As an ETF, FSTA offers investors a single-vehicle way to gain exposure to a broad basket of U.S. consumer staples stocks listed on U.S. exchanges.

Headlines to Watch Out For
  • Defensive rotation lifts inflows as recession fears mount
  • Major holdings raise prices to protect margins amid input cost inflation
