Description: FXO Financials AlphaDEX Fund

FXO is an exchange-traded fund that tracks a modified equal-dollar weighted index composed of stocks selected from the Russell 1000® Index within the financial services sector. The Russell 1000® Index represents the largest 1,000 U.S. companies by market capitalization, providing a broad universe from which the funds holdings are chosen. The fund commits at least 90% of its net assets to the securities comprising this index, employing First Trusts proprietary AlphaDEX® selection methodology-a quantitative, rules-based approach designed to identify stocks with characteristics that may generate positive alpha relative to traditional market-cap-weighted benchmarks.

The funds focus on the financial services sector exposes it to a diverse range of industries, including banks, insurance companies, real estate investment trusts, and capital markets firms. Launched in May 2007, the fund offers investors a rules-based, factor-tilted approach to equity exposure within financials, deviating from passive sector indexing through its modified equal-dollar weighting scheme and stock ranking process.
