The iShares iBonds Dec 2035 Term Corporate ETF (IBCA) seeks to track an index composed of U.S. dollar-denominated, investment-grade corporate bonds maturing in 2035. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the underlying index components and at least 90% in fixed income securities that BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) believes will help track the index. It is structured as a non-diversified fund.
As a target maturity ETF, IBCA is designed to hold bonds until their scheduled maturity in 2035, at which point the fund typically liquidates and returns proceeds to shareholders. Investment-grade corporate bonds are issued by companies with relatively strong credit ratings, generally considered lower risk than high-yield debt.
- Fed rate cuts drive investment-grade corporate bond yields lower
- Investment-grade credit spreads tighten as corporate fundamentals stay resilient
- Heavy corporate bond issuance in 2035 maturity bucket increases supply pressure
