The iShares Russell 2000 Value ETF (IWN) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Russell 2000 Value Index, which measures small-capitalization U.S. equity securities exhibiting value characteristics such as lower price-to-book and price-to-earnings ratios relative to the broader small-cap segment.
The fund employs a replication strategy, investing at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index. The remaining up to 20% may be allocated to derivatives such as futures, options, and swap contracts, as well as cash equivalents and money market funds advised by BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA) or its affiliates. BFA may also hold securities outside the index when it believes such holdings will help the fund better track its benchmark.
