The iShares iBoxx $ Investment Grade Corporate Bond ETF (LQD) is structured to track the performance of the iBoxx $ Liquid Investment Grade Index, which measures the U.S. dollar-denominated investment-grade corporate bond market. To maintain index alignment, the fund invests at least 80% of its assets in the underlying indexs component securities and at least 90% in fixed income securities that the advisor believes will support accurate tracking. Launched in 2002 and operating as a large-cap ETF with roughly $27.2 billion in assets, LQD is one of the most established and widely held corporate bond ETFs in the U.S. market. Its holdings primarily consist of debt issued by investment-grade-rated companies, meaning issuers with relatively strong creditworthiness, which helps support the funds focus on liquidity and lower default risk compared to high-yield alternatives.
- Fed rate cut expectations push Treasury yields lower
- Investment-grade credit spreads tighten on resilient corporate earnings
- Record ETF inflows boost AUM and fee revenue
