Description: SMMU PIMCO Short Term Municipal

The PIMCO Short Term Municipal Bond Active ETF (SMMU) invests at least 80% of its assets in a diversified portfolio of municipal bonds, which are debt securities whose interest is generally exempt from federal income tax. As an actively managed ETF, SMMUs portfolio composition is determined by PIMCOs investment team rather than tracking a passive index.

The funds holdings are issued by or on behalf of U.S. state and local governments, along with their agencies, authorities, and other instrumentalities. SMMU is restricted to U.S. dollar-denominated investment grade debt securities rated Baa or higher, limiting its exposure to lower-quality or non-rated credits.

Headlines to Watch Out For
  • Fed rate cuts drive short-term muni yields lower
  • Tax-exempt status appeal rises with federal tax increases
  • Robust municipal issuance expands funds investment opportunities
