Description: SPMD Russell Small Cap

SPMD is a passive index-tracking ETF that invests at least 80% of its total assets in the securities of its underlying benchmark, which is designed to measure the performance of the mid-capitalization segment of the U.S. equity market. The fund operates under a full replication approach in normal market conditions, holding substantially all of the index constituents to deliver returns closely aligned with its target benchmark. Despite its name referencing Small Cap Completeness, the fund is categorized as a Mid-Cap Blend ETF.

Launched in November 2005 and listed on the NYSE, SPMD is part of State Streets SPDR ETF family. Its underlying index aims to capture the segment of U.S. mid-cap stocks not represented in the large-cap Russell 1000 Index, effectively providing completeness exposure to the broader U.S. equity universe between small-cap and large-cap names.
